Qibao Water Town

Our visitors are becoming more adventurous. Olaf, Inga, Horst and Matze challenged us to try something new. So we took it as opportunity to visit our first Shanghai Watertown, Qibao.

As to be expected on Saturday, the Main Street is crowded; the main access is only about 4m wide.  There is one main bridge, which gives a little watery flair. We stroll down Main Street and to the temple.

We have some beggars chicken (yes, we found a place inShanghai where to buy it) and some meat skewers.
I the way to the bathrooms, we discover the deserted restaurant city one level below ground. Amazingly, we can walk freely through the remains.
