Record breaking cold in Shanghai

Shanghai is experiencing the coldest winter in 35 years. Last weekend, temperatures hit a record breaking -7C and today, we even see a bit of snow.

While -7C does not sound much to the Nordic Folks of Germany (seems that for the Chinese, all Northern Europeans turn into Vikings, once temperatures go below 0C), the cold seemed to have caused significant damages to uninsulated water pipes (we had a broken pipe in the office as well as a big pile of ice in front of our building, also indicating some kind of water problem).   “White” roof tops
